Have to run rebuildbcd on every boot

Trying (failing) to install Linux, I managed to mess up my Windows boot files somehow. Now, when I try to boot, I'm greeted to the Asus logo and then it reboots and goes back to that screen, repeat. When I boot off the recovery usb and run /rebuildbcd from the command prompt there, my next Windows boot works. But I have to do this EVERY TIME I want to boot. What should I do? I want to avoid Windows reinstall if possible but will do what I have to do.

If you are dual booting, you need to install a Grub menu. I have found that this little tool has helped me a dozen times or more;

Will that work if I don't have Linux installed? As I said, I was never able to successfully install Linux Mint

Then you need to rebuild your master boot record (MBR);
