Hello! As the title says, I am currently on a Ryzen 2600. As my friend wants to upgrade, I will sell my PC to him soon. What should I buy for gaming and streaming? The 2700x is way cheaper than the 3600 or 3600x (up to 120 usd cheaper than the 3rd gen), and the 3700 is out of budget.

I will pair it with a RX 580 now, and soon a RTX 2070, 16gb of ram and 750W watts PSU. Thank you!

Logically you should look at the R7 3700x, B450 chipset board or an X570, then a dual channel DDR4-3200MHz(at the very least) kit.

Make and model of your PSU? How old is the unit(if recycled)? Wattage alone doesn't dictate a good or bad PSU.

I agree, to make it a worthwhile upgrade by improving both single core performance and multi core performance the 3700x is the logical choice. If you can I would wait until you have saved enough for the 3700x, I think any other upgrade will be a lot of effort/money for minimal gain.
You'll probably notice a 10-15 frame-rate jump with the 3600 over the 2700X, however you will also have less cores will probably impact your streaming while gaming.

If streaming while gaming is a bigger priority, get t0eh 2700X, if gaming is more important get the 3600.

Thank you all for the fast answers! What this guy said is true, it's not worth to upgrade to the same generation, it makes a very low gain. I will try pairing a 3700x with a B450 with a good VRM if I don't have enough money for a X470 at least.
