Hi!. Have purchased 2 new DDR 3 ram (8GB) modules. earlier i had 1no 8Gb module installed already. now as I insert the 2 new ram modules my WIN 7 is not identifying the older module.

Whereas Cpu-Z is identifying all the ram sticks.

Validation link to CPU-Z for my current system.

Need to understand the issue and how to correct this

CPU_Z shows you run them in single channel mode which in turn may mean you have then in wrong slots. Check MB manual for proper placement.

Have replaced the Ram to the correct slot as per MB manual. Few are the interesting things that i observed.

1- only install the new RAM as per the correct order ( leaving the older ram removed). the frequency has increased from 1333mhz to 1600mhz.
2- After installing the old ram also along with the newer ones the frequency is again reduced to 1333mhz from 1600mhz. my assumption is 1600(new) + 1600(New) + 800 (Old) =4000mhz/3 = 1333mhz
3- even after placing all the ram in the correct slot my system still doesn't recognise the 24GB it still shows 16GB installed.
4- searched BIOS setup for enabling dual channels but didn't find any such options for it.

Apology for the delayed response.

Few updates:-
1- Have bought 2 more ram of the same specifications of the same frequency.
2- Have installed 4 ram on 4 channels, but now the total memory identified is 32gb by win 7 but the frequency is reduced to 1333 MHz from 1600 MHz.

Need to understand the cause of reduced frequency even after fixing all 4 of them of 1600mhz.
