Hello, I recently upgraded literally everything in my computer except for my old hard drives (I wanted to keep the memory on them). I also didn't want to reinstall Windows 10, so I only deleted the drivers on my hard drives, and moved them into my new computer.
However, my new computer lacks an optical disk drive, so it cannot read the installation disk that came with my motherboard. I have a laptop with a disk drive and a usb flash drive that is in FAT32 format, but I have no idea on how to transfer the contents of the disk onto the drive. All the guides I find on the internet are about updating the bios, not using the installation disk.
If I have to, I am willing to just write over my old hard drives and reinstall windows, but I don't know how to do that either. If I do have to reinstall windows, if possible how would I preserve my old copy of it? I don't have the old disk, would I have to pay for a new copy of windows 10?
Any help would be appreciated!
My specs:
ASRock Z97 Killer motherboard
16 gb (2 sticks of 8) RAM
GTX 970
i5 4690k CPU
one chassis fan, CPU fan
700W power supply
