Hey guy's, I'm running a gigabyte r9 280x and a msi r9 280x in crossfire on an asus crosshair v formula z with a evga 1300w supernova psu. Everything runs great until I try to play a game. When the game is launched it runs normal until about 10-20 seconds in and then it crashes and the screen goes black. I can still hear sound and talk on skype but the screen is black. I have to launch task manager and shut the game down just to see things again. If I disable crossfire in amd control center then games will not crash. I've also tried each card by themselves and that also works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more info just ask. Thanks!

Solution
Hmmm.... I suppose you could double check to make sure both cards are placed into their slots properly and have all their power pins plugged into the rear of them.

Someone once suggested that you should never use splitters with those pins... each plug should come in directly from the PSU.

I would also consider swapping places with those cards. I wonder if they would crash still while in crossfire?

It's happened with all games I've tried so far: Assassins creed Black Flag, Call of Duty Ghosts, Dying Light. Left 4 Dead 2, Counter Strike GO, Payday 2 and a bunch more.

Yeah they both have they're own cord coming from the psu. I'll try swapping their places right now.
