I'm having issues with freezes and BSOD's. It originally started to happen while I was playing games, in this case FFXIV. It started about a month ago and has gotten progressively worse. I've had the comp a while and never had any trouble before playing games, and the issue has progressed to happening just while I have browsers open. It happens within 45 min of launching a game (usually much less and manifests as a complete freeze). It is intermittent only in the amount of time it takes to occur.

I have done the following:

Virus scans: 1 found and removed.

Updated Drivers: including completely uninstalling my graphics card and drivers for a from the bottom update.

Run stress tests: Individually on my GPU and CPU. Both performed admirably, and the fans are running properly and clean, so its unlikely a physical hardware error.

Turned off Windows store and the search program it uses: Many people were having issues with this causing freezes or taking up 100% of disk or cpu space.

Turned off all notifications: Same as above

Turned off Adobe Flash Plugin: Same as above

Completely reset Windows

Run pc repair program Reimage: It found and repaired several problems caused by the crashes but did not solve the issue itself.

My computer specs are:

AMD FX(tm)-9590 8-core processor liquid cooled

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760

1TB Toshiba Hard drive

16G RAM

Corsair RM 750 Powersupply

Ive reached the end of things I actually know how to do as I am not an IT pro. If anyone can tell me what all the codes and parameters mean and help me stabilize my system it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that I suggested to others who had the same problem with their PC.

- Go to device Manager and uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver.
- Next is to uninstall anything related to Nvidia in Programs and Features.
- Once done, download and install the latest driver.
- Here's the link: nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
- Reboot your PC once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot set Nvidia as the default GPU.
- Here's how: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2615/~/how-do-i-customize-optimus-profiles-and-settings%3F

Ok i did the uninstall / manual install of the latest drivers but was unable to use the Nvidia Control Panel to set the default GPU. The link said to click view on the interface but where the pictured showed "View" my NCP shows "Desktop". I ran FFXIV anyways and the stability seems better. The drivers auto installed GFE and that stopped working (it always causes more issues than not for me so i uninstalled it again), but no livekernelevents. I will do a more lengthy gameplay test when I get home from work to make sure things are truly better.

Edit: After running my computer for a while I had another crash with the same message as before. I was not in a game just fooling around on the internet.
