Hello,

So here's my problem:

Built new pc (even tested for basic functionality before placing parts in the tower). Everything all fine, connectors double, triple checked. Go to install windows 8, booting the from the DVD drive from the bios. Do the first bit of the install, and the computer does not boot when it restarts the system.

I'm using an ASUS z97a, and the I can get out of the black screen by using the memtest button which gets me back to the bios. Am at an impasse here.

Any help? Would very much appreciate.

I did have a problem earlier with boot looping, but I narrowed that down the the overclocking switches on the MB. Documentation did say it could be an issue without driver updates.

I've tried booting directly to the install partition that windows installer creates before it restarts the PC. The boot priorities have been in order.

I haven't been asked to remove the DVD from the drive, so I haven't tried that. The windows setup just begngs the installation and prompts me about the first restart.

Every time, I boot to a black screen.
