Question Having trouble activating XMP with corsair vengeance

I have a 8x2 configuration of corsair vengeance ram sticks, running at 2133mhz. I have been trying to turn on XMP to have the ram run at 3200mhz. I have tried switching around the dim slots used, I have turned up the voltage, and messed with the timings but ultimately they all end with the same problem, a blue screen saying "Windows has run into a problem" with a different error code every time. Another screen I have gotten was a black screen saying that the overclock has failed.
