Hi guys, having trouble running skyrim it will load but right from the start it's really slow this is what I'm running. GeForce 8800 gts Amd Athlon 64 X2 dual core 6000+ 4gb ram Windows 7 also it's a steam game also. What's my best option to get it working properly thanks

Solution
Well ideally you could use a hardware upgrade. If that's not an option lower the resolution and settings you are playing at to a minimum and install whatever performance mods you can find, such as hialgo boost.
Depends. What tower do you have?

It's likely you will need to gut everything besides your hard drive if it's a SATA drive. You might also need to buy an OS again.

If you gave me a budget, your monitor resolution, and the graphic settings you are aiming for, I could make a suggestion for new parts.

I added a power supply and the video card some memory everything else I believe was stock.bought it to play diablo 3 mostly. I can give u the dimensions for the tower. Have a flat screen monitor I bought it's a lg model has a slot for Hdmi it's LED also

Budget for the upgrade? Which power supply did you add? There are units out there which can not output the wattage stated and could very well be firecrackers waiting to happen.

Unless you bought everything dirt cheap you would have been better off saving for a new system.

The dimensions of the tower could be useful for finding compatible graphics cards/CPU coolers but I need to know what motherboard form factor(s) it supports.

Do you also happen to know what resolution the TV is (EX: 720p/1080p?)

Cool master elite 343 and my monitor is a lg ips LED 23ea63 I believe it's full 1080 and my power supply is 450 watts.lol bare with me man really new to working around computers not sure what u mean by motherboard factors hopefully that bit of info will help. If I was to get a new tower and use my graphics card and power supply along with my monitor is it possible to make due with say another 600$ would be my range

With $600 it can definitely happen. Though I'm still curious about the power supply. Do you know the exact make and model of it?

Form factor is the term for the size of your motherboard. Your case supports the mATX (micro ATX) form factor. You could re-use it if you wanted to upgrade on the cheap.

What I'm thinking:

This is assuming your PSU is decent enough to run a 750ti and that your hard drive uses a SATA interface (has an L shaped connector). It can be upgraded to a much more powerful system later on with an i5/i7 and you could get a new PSU to support a more powerful graphics card.

I can imagine the 8800GTS will have a hard time running Skyrim at 1080p with decent graphic settings. The 750ti will be able to run it at ultra.

Ok pulled the comp apart and I believe it is Sata there's a plug goin to it that says it and it looks like the pic u have in yer message also the power supply is cool master top right corner says 460

Hey RazerZ,

Would this run on ultra and be able to run an ENB and a couple other Mods??
Another question i was thinking of either MSI Geforce GTX 660 or Sapphire Radeon R9 270X, which in your opinion is better? I have Memory and OS already I'm just kind of unsure about this build. It's my first pc. Thank you for your help.
