Having trouble uploading images

I've been trying to upload an image to my thread using the tutorial here at Tom's
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/32189-12-welcome-hardware-forums-read-first

So if I want to add an image using BBCode I just enclose the URL (from Image Shack) as follows?

and paste that into the body of my thread?

Hmmm... that didn't work

I'll try this again using the 'Picture' button above

EDIT: Got it! I had linked to the album page and not the image page at Image shack.

Till now, I haven't uploaded an image and set it as the profile image. Thanks for your image uploading tutorial.
