Hello denizens of Toms, I come seeking aid! I've been having no end of trouble as of late, since I decided to get this new card for my machine. I built it awhile back and It used to work just fine, as a middle range gaming machine.
Specs:
Asrock fm2a88x extreme6+ motherboard.
AMD a10 7850k APU/CPU.
600W ModXStream-Pro Power Supply
2 8 gig sticks of DDR3 Ram Forget the specifics, they were supposed to work well with the Kaveri, and they did.
Anywho, I wanted to give the machine a boost and picked up the new GPU, the (Vapor-X R9 280x.)
I used DDU to uninstall my previous catalyst drivers, did this in safe mode. Powered the machine off and went to install the card. While hooking it up, I found out I was missing some power cables for the GPU. (It takes two 8pin PCIe cables into the card itself, and all I had was an 8pin-6+2pin, and an 8pin-6pin, from the cables that came with my power supply.) The GPU itself came with to 8pin to 2-4pin Molex(with 1 missing),) I ordered an 8pin PCIE to 2-6+2pin, though it was female-male. I don't even remember now how I hooked it up, but I utilized the cords I had and what I thought should work. (So it powers up and works, getting visual through the GPU, but it doesn't seem to be detecting quite properly. I've not gotten any version of the Catalyst drivers to work on it and though it shows up as a device in the device manager, it doesn't state what it is.)
So after I finish writing this, I'm going to power it off and take the card out, unhook the mess of cables and wait for online input.
I figure the problem has something to do with the way I've hooked up the power. All these cords are confusing the hell out of me, and have had no luck looking online for help.
I'll include some pictures of the stuff I have and maybe somebody can tell me "throw that away, buy one of these, plug this in here.. yada yada."
(The second red 8pin on the Power Supply is open as well, that was just taken while I was hooking up the card.)

Thanks for your help and time!
