Hello! for the past days i'm a having a strange issue when i start (mostly) or using the computer, i have a gigabyte hd radeon 5850, the problem is when i start the pc the graphic card acts weird it's like it's loaded (like working at full capacity) and then the display goes off, sometimes i tried to resolve the problem by taking it out and put it back on but now the problem is more persistent. I connect my monitor directly to my motherboard everything works fine. I also updated to the latest ati 13.2 beta drivers. How can i resolve this?

now i connected it to my pciexpress 2.0 port and not the 3.0 one (i have an asus p8h77-vle) and the card seems to work fine no error so far (im playing various games like max payne, skyrim) but i am concerned that the problem may still occur again, any more ideas?

Sounds like a possible motherboard issue. Check in the BIOS to make sure that the port you want to use (the 3.0 port, since that's directly connected to the CPU PCI-E controller) is set to POST FIRST, then try that card in that slot again.

So now the problem reappeared now is more obnoxious.. I don't know what to do, yesterday it worked fine when playing games, now it wont stay stable for 5 min. It's definitely a gpu problem, maybe a voltage problem? i don't what do you say? I'm now working with the video of my mobo and it's all flawless.

It is not a voltage problem, as far as I know. It could be that the card is just dying slowly. I would keep an eye on the fans to make sure they are spinning when your problems occur, they could be starting to get seized.

Also try another video card to test out your computer more thoroughly, so you can eliminate the motherboard/else as being the cause and focus on the GPU.
