Hd 4870 1gb or gtx 260 core 216?

as the title says, im thinking of to upgrade my graphics card to max out the games, i have a corsair 650w(enough) but my motherboard only have one pci express x16 so no sli or crossfire, 4870 1gb is a little cheaper than the core 216 model of gtx 260, but my question is : would it be worth paying a little more for the core 216? or are there any better deals for 22 inch(1680x1050)? thanks in advance

4870 is a steal at the price it is now. They are pretty much the same in performance. Trading blows in different games.

If it comes down to it flip a coin, but 4870 gets my vote due to lower price.

The 260 sp 216 is generally a little faster overall. It really depends on the games you are going to play though. I say go with the 4870 1GB as the extra RAM will help in the future.

Depends on games and AA and AF settings. But generally i just go with what i can get cheaper.

4870 1gb dx10.1 is wat always sold me on ati, i dont even no wat it is but its .1 more than 10.

ok thanks everybody, ill go for the 4870 1gb, the games im going to play is : far cry 2, crysis, crysis warhead, gta iv and comming games, i wanna have atleast 2x aa turned on because it looks awesome then, will this change? i know aa take up lots off memory and processing power, ive heard ati is doing great with aa turned on with there new 4800 series, and the 4870 got more buffer aswell, i go for the 1gb 4870, tnx for your help
