You lost me. People who buy a Honda are "average consumers" while people who buy a Mercedes are "consumer whores"? Does buying a higher quality/performing/whatever product for more money instantly make you a consumer whore? You're going to have a tough time making this kind of an argument on hardware enthusiast forums, fyi. Explain.
Also unrelated to the quote, let me say that I'd like to see some solid support from ATI for high resolutions. The link jaydeejohn posted showed they were doing very well with AA at high res, but that was on Assassin's Creed which isn't the most demanding game out. The fact that they can push AA at 2560 is pretty impressive though, so I'm hoping that their 1GB mem 4870's handle crysis a lot better at 2560. If they're coming close to the GTX280 at lower resolutions, lets hope the additional memory helps.
