Hd 4870

Hello, i am having some troubles related to my old crad and i can't replace it right now because of some lack of money. It starts ok but when I've been playing for an hour or two the image starts flickering and after some minutes freezes completely. Any solution or advice not involving to get rid of it? thanks.

Did that when my PSU fan went crazy after I short circuited it somehow. Played entire Crysis 2 with my hd4850 512mb @130 degrees Celsius

What are your monitor resolution?
Your card cannot handle max settings at 1080p. If your resolution is lower then it should. Your card can handle very high temperature 110-120 degrees without any freezes or flickering. The heating issue can be a problem but I doubt it is from the 4870. Check CPU and Ram card temperatures constantly.
