This is related to the following thread
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/356213-31-system-safe-upgrade

Ok so I have fixed everything up at the last though got an one last question. I think you already knew about HD 5570 so here's what GPU Z shows about my one.

ROPs - 4 (instead of 8)
Pixel Fillrate - 2.6Gpixels/s
Texture Fillrate - 10.4Gtexels/s (instead of 13.5)
Bandwidth - 25.6GB/s (instead of 28.8)
Shaders - 320 unified (instead of 400)

I have updated all to latest drivers and games also plays well...my RAM bus is 1333 but CPU bus is 800Mhz...And as long as I know G41MD motherboard has a PCI-E x16 2.0 slot but GPU Z state it as 1.1....Why?

And thanks so much for helping :)

Yes shame on gigabyte for not mentioning it under their specs 🙁
BTW I'm still looking for if some bios mod or something can fix this issue...looks like i just wasted my money for a junk :\

I'm already getting upset by this card....Cannot play NFS RUN on high quality with 1280x1024..game intros will slow down....
And GTA IV runs on too low fps...like 15 to 18 on 1152x864...if I increase it to 1280x1024 game lags as hell 🙁

Look!!!!! This is what I got when I contacted the Gigabyte support finally 😛

Question : So if you are correct then my card will be able to handle NFS RUN, GTA IV and Call of duty modern warfare 3 without lagging too much. I have a 4GB DDR3 RAM and my previous HD 4350 512MB card was also ran NFS RUN and GTA IV with the same frame rates this 5570 gives me now. Worst case is GTA IV run at only 6 to 10 FPS in 1280x1024 and 8 to 12 FPS in 1024x768 resolutions. Also when I play NFS RUN even at low resolutions cut scenes run too slowly. As I told earlier I tried different driver versions in Windows XP and 7 but it gave me the same results. So my only doubt is that this HD 5570 which is equipped with a Turks LE has 30% to 40% performance difference with the previous 5570 which had a Redwood PRO. I searched lot about this issue and that's what I found out in all the benchmarks as well. Hmm so why did you do such change for this card without explaining it under your 'SPECIFICATIONS' page? People like me get fooled because of that. By the way I do not think the drop in 80SPUs and 4ROPs is not a huge difference in performance because it makes so much sense to me.

Thanks for all of that 😛

Answer : Dear Pasan Godakanda,

Basically, it won't be huge different performance between Turks LE and Redwood PRO. The specification of this GV-R557D3-1GI is shown as we listed in our website. Thank you.

Question : So what is the solution for my case? I just do not want this kind of a LOW end graphic card. I bought this card because I am a light gamer and I wanted an entry level card like 5570. But according to this low end specifications it will fall into the LOW END category. Am I correct? And you said that you used later Turks LE GPU for this card so tell me about it. Do Turks LE performs faster than Redwood PRO or you just did the replacement because of cheaper cost isn't it? My guess is this Turks LE is worse than a HD 5550 and sometimes even than a HD 5450 maybe because they both has 8ROPs and this 5570 has just 4ROPs. Please give me detailed information because I do not want to get disappointed.

Thanks

Answer : Dear Pasan Godakanda,

Thank you again for your kindly mail. Sorry for didn't state clearly. About the PCIE 1.1 which showed in GPU-Z, it is possible the motherboard PCIE slot is 1.1 revision so the speed will reduce to 1.1.

About the graphics card specification you mentioned, after confirmed, we used the later Turks LE GPU (320 Shaders) and it is different from the former one Redwood PRO GPU (400 Shaders) which listed on AMD website. So, the specification is correct, and you can refer the graphics card specification from our website. Meanwhile, we also informed AMD about this case, thank you.

GIGABYTE

Answer : Dear Pasan Godakanda,

Thank you for your kindly mail and inquiry. From the information you provided, you mentioned that you used GV-R557D3-1GI; however, from the screen shot you attached, it shows PCIE 1.1 and HD5500 series, please kindly use VGA@BIOS and check the model name and VGA BIOS version again.

Meanwhile, please kindly provide us the serial number of the graphics card in order for us to assist you well. Thank you.

Question : I just bought this VGA card 2 weeks ago and experiencing much lower performance on games such as NFS RUN and Call of Duty MW3 so I checked it with GPU Z and what I found out was this card is different from the original Radeon 5570 that was released in 2009. So this card only has 320 shader units instead of 400, 4ROPs instead of 8, 25.6 GB/s memory bandwidth and 2.6 GPixel/s pixel fillrate instead of 5.2, 10.4 GTexel/s texture fillrate instead of 13.0. Well I want to know why have you used a cut down version of 5570 into this card and it was supposed to have a Redwood PRO chip instead of Turks. Do you think both cards have same performance and give me detailed information regarding this matter. Because I do not want to get disappointing by this crap as a loyal customer and I also want to know that how could 4ROPs perform faster than 8ROPs.

P.S.: I tried different versions of GPU Z and different Operating systems with different driver versions as well. Result is the same.

Thanks and regards.

Look I got this Radeon HD 5570 couple of weeks ago and trying to play few games as a light gamer but even at low resolutions I don't get stable frame rates in most of them.

GTA IV at medium settings: 1280x1024 - 6 to 10 FPS
1024x768 - 8 to 12 FPS

NFS RUN at high settings: 1280x1024 - 8 to 13 FPS (also the cut scenes lagging as hell)
1152x864 - 10 to 15 FPS (same lagging as before)

Call of Duty MW3 at low to medium settings: 1024x768 - 10 to 15 FPS (cut scenes lag sometimes)

Assassins creed brotherhood at high settings: 1280x1024 - 12 to 18 FPS (but playable)

Lost via domus at default settings (there are no options to change) - 12 to 16 FPS

Any ideas about the issue?

I already tried different driver versions both in win XP and Win 7 but results are the same. Now I am using catalyst 12.6.
And this is a new HD 5570 which is a cut down version of their Turks family GPUs named Turks LE (not the previous one with Redwood PRO).
Here is the info I got when I contacted the Gigabyte support 😛

Oh sorry for making a new thread for this but actually I just wanted to ask about the FPS issue instead of 5570 trouble so I felt I have to start a new thread regarding that because it is a new question.

And look at my resolutions. They are too low so why can't I play at stable frame rates? And I tried lowering NFS RUN details to medium but has the same results. My previous HD 4350 512MB low end card was also able to play them at the same resolutions at those FPSs. Hmm :\

Look at those youtube videos people playing those games at highest settings using low end HD 5450s or 6450s. Well what's wrong with mine?

Well, you barely meet need for speed the run system requirements, I don't understand why you think it should run better than low settings. After all, HD 5570 is a low end card and wasn't meant for games in the first place.

As for people on youtube with highest settings - most of those videos are simply fake.

Whatever I don't know what's wrong with GTA IV 🙁 Actually I played it with my old HD 4350 using the same settings, resolutions with almost same frame rates...weird :\
Because as I know so far...4350 falls into the LOW end category and 5570 falls into the ENTRY level category isn't it? My last guess is this is because this 5570 is different from the older one and has a Turks LE instead of Redwood PRO..hmm they reduced 4 ROPs and 80 SPUs with this junk
