hd 6850 4k

i got my tv (samsung ks8000) hooked up to my computer running windows 10 with an amd hd6850 video card (kind of old, i know). windows won't show a resolution higher than 1920x1080, there's nothing higher on the list when you go into the resolution control panel. i read that the video card can only go up to 1600 so it can't actually do 4k. that's fine but i at least expected to see 2560x1440. anybody had anything like this happen? is there a way to force 4k?

What are you using to plug the TV in?
Only the DP or DVI ports are capable of 1440p on that card.

No way to force 4k, it's a hardware side thing.
Time for a graphics card upgrade!
Also @ Gam3r01, the HDMI standard supports 1440p at 60Hz just fine.

I don't believe HDTV's have a 1440p option via a normal HDMI input.

I have a HDR 4K TV at the moment that uses a HDMI 2.0 input and works just fine. :/

hdmi, but i've tried a dvi. same result.

the 6850 has hdmi 1.4 i believe. which should be able to do 4k at 30 hz, i think.
