I am trying to decide between using a HD 7570 vs HD 8490 on an older amd llano system. Recently upgraded to a qhd screen. Llano app maxes out at 1920x1200.

I don't do gaming. Mostly videos, email, coding etc.

One possible limitation. The system is in a antec isk 300-150 case. Max power i guess is 150w.

Looking for something that supports max resolution within the available power.

Both GPU's are based on the same Terascale 2 Arch. But the 7570 is substantially faster. The 7570 has 480 cores 24TMU's and 8 ROPS while the 8490 has 160 cores 8TMU's and 4 ROPS. The 8490 has a 34% GPU clockspeed advantage and 12.5 Memory Clockspeed advantage, but that won't make up for having only 1/3 the cores available. So stick with the 7570.

As far as power the 7570 has a 60W TDP and the 8490 has a 35W TDP. So power wise the 8490 is better.

Thanks. Yes, I did some of the on paper comparisons and was going to pull the trigger on the 7570. But the power consumption of the 7570 concerns me, especially since i don't have much headroom available on the PSU.

Any other amd graphics card options recommended? The motherboard is pcie2.0. so I plan to stick with pcie 2.0 cards. Also cheaper than the pcie 3.0 cards.
