Hello I have a fan, or fans, acting up (its dual fan gpu). I'm getting a loud clicking sound when the fan speed goes up past about 45%. The noise Increases as the fan speed % climbs higher. No wires in the way, maybe a bearing or just bad fan? If so, can someone let me know what type of fan to purchase from ebay ect to replace it. It seems both fans are NOT the same type which is why I'm asking for clarity. They look a bit different (further away fan from monitor hookup seems thinner and a bit longer). Thanks much.

Note: Can't RMA (out of warranty).

Note: Not sure which fan it is but my guess is the one closest to the side where the monitor plugs in. Reason being when I gently spin with my finger (unpowered ofc) it seems sticky or 'not smooth'. The other fan (further away from monitor hookup) seems nice and smooth.

If you can access and pop off the center cap of the fan, you can drop a tiny bit of machine oil(I use sewing machine oil) in there. I've had good success doing this. Youtube has loads of 'computer fan repair' videos on this. If the hub of the fan is gunked up then you will need to disassemble it to clean it and that's annoying since the parts are small.

Alternatively you can look for VGA cooling solutions for your card, on Ebay or where ever, and simply replace the old heatsink/fan combo. Replacing just the fan on an older card is the least viable approach in my opinion, you need to find the exact replacement, good luck with that.
