Hd 7970 gaming at 2560x1600 resolution

Hello,
I was wondering if a single Hd 7970Ghz or maybe even one of the new R9 280x can handle most games @ 1600p at playable frames?

My rig is:
I5 4570
8Gb Corsair Vengeance
Asus-Z87 PRO
TX 750 V2

Yes, but you'll need to lower some setting like AA to get a playable frame rate on higher end games (It won't affect the visuals that much) if you have the money the GTX780 can handle gaming at that resolution alot better
