HD 7970 reach temp of 97!!!!

I'm too serious about my PC an I always check every things
I use MSI After-burn for customizing fan speed of my HD 7970 (Power color) to keep it cooler..
but today I play some hardcore games about 20-30 min and suddenly I found the fan doesn't spin as high as it should..
quickly exit game and found my GPU maximum temp is 97!! :|||

because of the MSI is hanging and speed of fan stuck on 33 %!!!
Now how should I know my HD 7970 which cost me a lot is completely
unharmed and safe?
is there any way to check it up completely??
I'm really get depressed because of this
please advice me a way...🙁

There hasn't been any damage to your card. If you turn the fan speed up you can keep temps low in the future.

There should not be much or if any at all damage done to the card. Has cuecuemore suggested, setup a custom fan profile. For example on my 7950: 30% is minimum speed. At 50Degrees it spins at 55% then as the temp rises to 60 the fans quickly rise to 65-75%.

EDIT: Only way you're going to be able to tell if it is damaged is getting the fan profile setup and then gaming for a bit while monitoring the temps. Use the On Screen Display (OSD) in MSI to do this ingame. But there should be no damage

I think It may be stay in 97 degree of Celsius for while(15-30)
how can I check the hardware?
is 3Dmark a good way to check it completly?

Well after you setup the fan profile, you can either game or run benches such a Uningine. 3DMark is more of a full system benchmark. As long as you can do these without the temps getting real high and no artifacts or crashes then you should be good to go! 😀

you know 97 degree is very high...I'm always nervous about it

I ran a 4870 at 107C for more than a week (24x7 @ 100% load) and nothing happened to it. The max temp on the 7970 is 100C, so try to stay below that. As far as checking it out, if you don't notice any artifacting or crashes, you're good to go.
