HD camcorder has made my video project huge in Studio 14 Ultimate! 40 mins project is a 4.9gb avi file

(includes some slow motion) can I use different settings other than the default to make the file smaller...at least down to 4.450 so I can fit it on a DVD DL. Obviously I don't want to lose quality so I would rather make a different file to view on my wide screen TV than shrink the avi file.

Yes a USB stick would do it but it seems ridiculous to have to use that for a 40 min film. After all we have fantastic Hollywood movies on DVD discs! Thanks anyway.
 


Der - I use PowerDirector. I often used 10 - 20 GB of input files (2 cameras, 1080, 1 hour) to produce a movie. No problems. I use an i7 3820 with a GTX 670 and Hardware Acceleration enabled - helps speed up the review and rendering process. The final edit is usually about 1GB. No-one is that interested in 40 mins of unedited movie. If you really have to, lower the resolution or put it on a double layer DVD.
