I have 640gigs on my hard-drive (that's what it originally came with)
I've had my computer over a year and a half and never lost hard-drive space before.
I tried installing Ubuntu, and for whatever reasons i had issues allocating the drive space.
Regardless, I got rid of ubuntu, and i got rid of the unallocated space by extending my original disk.
I don't know what I did wrong but my hard drive capacity is now 596gigs instead of 640.
Could anyone assist me?
Thanks

im running windows 7

I see,

The manufacturer's calculate the capacity of the disk as 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes but since the computer works in Binary it uses a value of 1 GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes. What you are seeing is perfectly normal.

It is correct size available to u.

Not fair, huh... Marketing magic.

Check for unallocated space in disk management.
