Auslogic sounded so trustworthy,
I def-raged my 500GB Win 7 HD and now it only boots in safe mode, no printer.
It works fine in safe (handicapped with no printer or peripherals) except it will only boot so far as the desk top if I am lucky on a regular boot, then it is totally dead in the water.
I do have an imaged drive in reserve but prefer this was fixable.
I am asking for help on this.

Solution
I'd not blame it on the HDD itself just yet, @stevah!

It sounds like the issues and the error codes are coming from the OS itself. I'd advise you to perform a clean install onto the hard drive with the Windows 7 installation media. Afterwards, check how the system is running and use the backup drive to retrieve any important files back onto the system.
If you have access to another working PC, check how the HDD is going to show up there as a secondary drive. It would be a good idea to test its health and SMART status by running its brand-specific diagnostic tool from there.

Keep me posted.

Hey there, @stevah!

I'd second @captaioncharisma's suggestion on using the System restore feature in Windows and try to get back to an earlier point in time when you were not experiencing these issues. I'd also suggest you try to run Windows 7 StartUp repair options from your installation media/recovery disk.

It might also be a good idea to check your PC or motherboard manufacturer's official website for any driver updates and make sure you have it all installed from there.

If you are able to access your files, please back them up somewhere off-site to avoid any potential data loss.

I hope it helps you. Keep us posted with the troubleshooting!

Thanks so much for all these good ideas.
I have been unable to make a restore point lately-for the last 3-4 months. I have tried many times but it always finishes with telling me that it failed and I should try again. There are no good restore points, I have looked and tried the ones there. When they fail to restore they say: "Instructions at 0xfb9c584d reffered memory at 0x00000008. The memory could not be read."

I do have an imaged drive and backups, in fact I can still make backups to my other drive through safe mode.
I will get my disc and try the Win7 fix doing that.
Thanks.

I'm still working on my "will not boot worth a darn, problem." Now when I attempted to do a restore it says," FILE OR DIRECTORY IS CORRUPTED + UNREADABLE AT 0x80070570.
My assumption is that this HD is done?

+1 on that. attempting a clean install of windows would be a good way to diagnose the drive. if the windows setup detects the drive at the start that may be a good thing
