Hey all,

I had a really particular OS setup on an old SSD which I want to re-use for something else. I made an image of the drive using Macrium Reflect, and it went from 36.9gb to 13.7, does that seem right? I realise it removes the page file etc, but that seems too small to me?

Cheers!

Solution
But yes...that may well be 'right'
My current C drive is approx 136GB
A Macrium Reflect Image (taken last week) of that is ~72GB.

From Macrium:
"Using Macrium Reflect™ you can backup whole partitions or individual files and folders into a single compressed mountable archive file. "

What OS?
What else was installed, and on that same partition?
Have you tried to resurrect it, to see if it works?

I cant think of a way of doing that without wiping another drive/wiping the original?

It was a pretty minimal win7 install. Just had a look on the original drive to see that I had a 6gb hibernate file (I thought I got rid of this) and 8gb page file so that's only 23gb of actual files.

A backup or image is only as good as the last time you tested it.
You need to try to resurrect it at least once.
SO that the drive crash and replacement is not the first time you try it.
