Hd Led Light on Case

I have a Maxtor Hd installed - The led light on the case stay's on no Flash - I checked Bios everything is ok - If I use a WD 5400 it will flash - also it will work with a Segate - I contacted Maxtor they have no Idea

Have you tried the HDD on another computer to see if it has the same problem?

have you returned the drive to see if the new one dose the same thing it could be a defect with the drive

Or perhaps there's something wrong with one of the pins. I've had a drive before where the light wouldn't come on at all.

I took the Maxtor Back and put in a new one and it did the same thing -No Led flash it just stays on solid - the drive works great - I might add it is in my kids Compaq that came with a 5400 rpm WD so it Might be the junk MOBO Compaq Uses
