I am having a bad run of failing to boot HDs.

After trying to repair the spare Sata W.Digital HD it will again NOT Boot on its own, but boots with a boot floppy program called "fixntldr.exe" I found here:-

Simple "ntldr is missing" fix with boot floppy, CD-R, or USB flash

Somehow I blew it & ended up with 2 Wins XP, as shown below in HD Manager, one in E primary & another in J logical shown in image below.

Can I delete the J logical partition?.

Can anybody see a way of getting this HD to boot on its own.

If I go in Safe Mode is there anything I can do to change things.

This is a simple fix, just edit boot.ini in the root of your C: drive. Don't forget to make a back up of it just in case. Remove the entry not required. I was unable to view the links you gave so if I have got the wrong end of the stick I apologize

This is what you do. Go into my computer select the folder options tab scroll down a bit and look for a setting that will be ticked labelled "Hide protected operating system files" untick that block.

Then go directley into your C drive where you Windows folders and program files are look in that window for a file named boot.ini once found double clivk to edit it and just delete thwe while windows extension that you do not need generally it will be the bottom one depending on how you installed.

The probable reason you cannot find that file is because it is hidden, so by untick that check box you should be able to find it.

Kindest Regards Rob."
