HD Options in Storage Managment

I just built a new PC and have a new HD as extra storage. Under disk management It shows its there but the only options I have are "Convert to Dynamic disk" and "Convert to MBR disk".

I have tried both but cant seem to get the HD to be accessible. Any idea what I need to do?

Did the new hard drive come formatted? Most of the do and are ready to be installed.

As it does not sound like it is your boot disk, I would try a program like GParted to reformat the hard drive, and try this again.

I seem to fixed the problem by right clicking the box in the long empty area to the right and selecting format drive.

That'l work. Drive just needed a format.
