HD showing wrong size in windows 7

Hi, i just got a hd154ui from samsung and installed windows 7 on it a fresh install, and its only showing up as 500gb which is 1/3 of its actual size. In the bios it shows up as the correct size. Im using a ga-p35c-ds3r motherboard and it supports sata 2. Im hoping its something silly that i have missed so any help would be appreciated, thanks.
