hey guys, im using WD Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM, ive been using this HDD for 2-3 years, for OS, also for games, movies, etc
have been suffering from power outages several times (but now never gonna happen again since i just bought a UPS)

and today, im playing GTA V and then when im driving through the freeway to sandy shores, im getting really heavy stuttering
so i opened HD Tune and then check the health tab and i was shocked, there was a Warning there, 2-3 days ago i checked and everything was in OK

so i did some check, did a chkdsk and chkdsk /scan , both showing no errors
did some defragmenting, and also did some disk error checking on every each partition (Right click on partition -> Properties -> Tools -> Error -> Check) also no error found
last thing i did was surface test from minitool partition wizard and also no bad sector / error found -> heres the pic: http://i.imgur.com/caCSgHV.jpg
i also check SMART check and Short Generic and Short DST (or something like that i forgot) on Seatools, all passed

so im confused what is really happening to my hard drive here...

edit:
just did a benchmark heres the result

Hey there, Vellfire.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with your drive. First you should backup any important data, which you might have on that drive (photos, videos, documents etc), just to be on the safe side. After that I'd suggest that you download DLG (Data Lifeguard Diagnostics) and run both tests (Quick and Extended), to see what results you get. Here's how to do that:
How to test a drive for problems using Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows
. If everything seems to be working fine you could also double-check with chkdsk X: /r (where "X" is the letter of the drive you wish to check, so don't forget to change it).

edit: Seem like you've already been given an answer before I posted, but please go ahead and...

Please let me know how everything goes.

thank your for your answer but, what can possibly be the cause of my hdd dying? power outages? its really pain for me if i have to replace my hdd every 3 years
i only got 500GB external HDD and only little free space left, but im gonna buy new HDD at the end of year
if hdd die, is it completly die (wont turn on or something like that) or is there still some way i can sitll restore my old data?

hey thank you for help, i will try that later or tomorrow (its 19:10 here, im not in a mood to do that) and i will post here as soon as i get the result
edit: nvm ill do that now

All drives will die eventually, at around three or four years. I'm not saying yours is dead, because it isn't; just that bad sectors can be a sign of ageing :) Your drive may have a good few years left in it.

When a HDD dies it can either 'partially' die or entirely die. The best thing to do is to prepare for the worst, i.e. when the drive dies - have your data backed up in at least one other location.

what do you think? can i try to use HDD Regenerator?
currently i dont have any other hard drive to backup my data

anyway what do you mean by partially die? @Mattios

another question: does the external HDD will have a longer lifetime than the internal one? if yes im gonna buy the 2TB ext. HDD but if not ill just go with 1TB ext. HDD

All of those tests passed.

I mean partially die in that sometimes the data will remain on the drive, but the connections between the drive and the computer will break. Really what I mean is that when a drive dies, you more or less always need professional data recovery.

External hard drives are just internal drives inside USB cages. They have the same failure rate as normal internal drives, although some may say the USB bridge is likely to fail in an external one. Buy a good large drive with a good warranty (WD = 2 years for the elements drive) and you'll be fine.

Just as @Mattios mentioned - the drive has passed all the tests, which means that probably the first one was a fluke or a glitch of some sort. I can't really be sure, but it seems to be fine for now. Just keep an eye on it and have your data backed up. If you don't want to get a large drive I'd suggest that you don't backup everything, just the important stuff which is irreplaceable like: photos, videos, documents etc. Everything else like movies, music and games you can always download again.
Here's a link where you can check out the WD Elements drive, which @Mattios suggested: WD Elements Portable

Cheers!
