HD weird minimum read speed

Hi everyone!

I been having a problem with my 1TB Western Digital Caviar black. one thing i notice is that even when opening a browser or new tab or even some application a eventually get a lag spike so i tried running hd tune and i get a very low minimum read speed. Here are my specs:

i5 3550k
Gigabyte Z77-UD3H (Latest Bios F18)
2x corsair venge 4g 1600
Sapphire 7870 ghz oc
Corsair TX 750M
Westen Digitan WD1002FAEX-00Y9A

Already defrag and scan my disk and there is no bad sector.

Are you running in AHCI or IDE? Please check. If IDE change to AHCI and retest.

I think not, my previous HD's minimum read speed does not go this low.

Hi,
I had the same problems today - the problem was the cable not the hdd - i have 3 hdd's installed so i played around with the cables and average went up 50mb/s ,minimum transfer also went up.
I would also check and remove hdd shutdown from power-saving options - sometimes it goes buggy and shuts the hdd for no reason - should be on never.
you can check on some hd utility if crc error count goes up all the time - usually means a faulty cable or usb port.
