Hi all,
just a quicky, which hard disk is better, WD or Seagate? in term of reliability and longetivity.
Thanks

Somebody will tell you WD , others Seagate , ill say depends on luck. I have a WD 640 AAKS and after 4 years run like in the first day and is quiet. The AAKS series from WD are verry good. I owned just WD HDD. I had a Samsung HDD and after 1 year died and i replaced with WD.

I agree with the luck issue. I have a seagate 1tb with a wd 500gb backup drive both are new,sata3\6gb,7200rpm and 32mb cache. I have no problems with either. Both seem equally fast.
I also hear good things about Samsung f3 as far as performance. I have never tried usung one but is because I have a hard time finding one available when in need..LoL

agreed, got a seagate 200GB, had it for about 7 years now, still going strong, and a WD green 1TB in my other comp, only about 2 years old, no issues

its pretty much luck, all HDD's have failure rates, and there is always that chance that you will be one of the unlucky ones

thats what backups are for :)
