Hd4850 gives just 10-12 fps in stracraft2

I have just bought myself a used asus eah hd4850 witch i mounted in my older dual P4 3,2ghz with 2GB RAM.
I also bought a new coolermaster psu with 460W.
I thought this would be enough to power the hd4850, but it dosent lokk like it.
In a game like Starcraft 2 i only get 10-12fps when everithing is turned of.
I think my old motherboard just has PCI-e 1.0, but if I understand this correct it should work?
Are there somthing wrong with my hd4850 or is my machine just to old to power it?

I am guessing that your processor is bottlenecking it (causing data to arrive to the card slowly) If I was you I would just buy a whole new system.

ok, so upgrading with more ram wouldent help me?
I kind of thought so as the machine is close to 5 years now.
I have a simular machine but its has a nvidia 7950gt card, and this one runs battlefield2 and other games fine.
Wouldent the prosessor effect this card also?
