HD7870 only hitting core 525mhz in 3d mode

really bugging me now, i understand the 2d clocks are 300/150 but upon doing anything 3d, the core clock only goes to 525mhz giving me under par performance by some margins on what im used to for this card, i dont understand why its doing it all of a sudden, i reinstalled drivers, fresh using driver sweeper, reseating gpu card, updated bios, always get the same result, getting a little peed off to be honest.

So any help would be really appreciated.

3D for what? Is a certain game, all games?

running the heaven benchmark and 3dmark11, memory goes up to 1250mhz but core clock only to 525mhz.

Its also the OC edition from Sapphire, which makes it even more annoying.
