HD7950 and its noise!

Hi everyone,

I am willing to build a new gaming pc and after a few searches, I decided that I wanted to go for a ATI's 7950. However after reading some threads I found out that this graphic card was noisy (a lot!).
I can't pay 300$ for this.

However, it appears that this card model differs from manufacturers, for example the HIS Radeon HD7950 IceQ BoostClock 3Go, or the PowerColor PCS+ HD7950 3GB GDDR5 are less noisy than the Sapphire HD7950 3GB GDDR5 OC Vapor-X.

Please advice me, so I can make a clear idea specially that I couldn't find any clear answer.

Yes, the REFERENCE design is noisy. Now after market coolers are much better. The Sapphire Vapor-x and HIS IceQ are both good silent options.
I prefer the IceQ version.

Thanks for the replie, I didn't want to buy a GTX 660 TI, while for couple of more euros I could buy a (way) better card.

Here are the cards that will be as last choices:
-HIS Radeon HD7950 IceQ BoostClock 3Go
-MSI R7950 Twin Frozr 3GD5/OC
-Club 3D Radeon HD7950 RoyalKing 3Go
-XFX Radeon HD7950 3Go Dual Fan Edition

Quite lot of choices but as it's my first build I'll make my last choice after looking more for these ones.

DO not get the XFX, they are overpriced and barely better than reference design.

Hmmm I do not have experience with Club3D, so careful there too.

Thanks for the advice. I'll make verifications on internet for that model (and the others to choose the best one). Now I'm almost done with graphic card!
