hd7970 or a gtx 970

I didn't see a thread for this already so I thought I'd ask.
both a roughly the same price, and I'm torn between the two. What do you all think would be the better graphics card?

GTX 970. Hd 7970 is one level below GTX 970. The R9 290 is currently comparably with performance but the GTX 970 uses less power.
