hd7970 or a gtx 970

I didn't see a thread for this already so I thought I'd ask.
both are roughly the same price, and I'm torn between the two. What do you all think would be the better graphics card?

970 without a doubt, same performance as R9 290/x

Yea 970 beats the pants off the 7970/280x so fed the 970.

Definitely the 970. It is comparable to the R9-290X
