Hello.
I am wondering if it will be ok if I hook up my HDD and SSD on the same power cable. I've heard comments that the power cable could get too hot.

Here is what I have:
PSU: Cooler Master 520W RS-520-ASAA-A1
HDD: Seagate 1TB ST1000DM003-1SB102
SSD: Kingston 240GB SUV400S37240G

Thanks!

Hi :)

You can easily power multiple SATA devices off the same power cable. As you know for data you will need a dedicated cable for each SATA device.

SATA devices are low power (less than 12 watts) devices. That's why you can power multiple devices from the same cable.

Regards :)

That's nice. I'm guessing I can hook up a DVD drive to the same power cable while I am at it.
