Hi everyone,
Two days ago my Lenovo IdeaPad Z50-70 laptop suddenly powered down. When I proceeded to power it up, thinking it was only some minor issue, it was black screen only with "checking media" in the top left corner of the screen. I went on to have a look in the BIOS and i found that the HDD, a 1TB/8GB NAND Seagate SSHD, "was not detected".
My first reaction was to replace the HDD, so I bought a OCZ Trion 150, created a windows installer memory stick and plugged both in only to find that no SSD was available. I looked in the BIOS and, yet again, the SSD "was not detected".
I have used an old laptop to install Windows 10 on the SSD, it works fine in that machine, but not in my Lenovo. The old drive does not work in my old Sony, but it does detect the total amount of storage on it in the BIOS.
Something I find curious, without knowing if it is, is that when i plug in the power cable on the Lenovo the SSD powers up, but when i turn the laptop on it stops making any sounds.
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate your help!
Best regards
Rasmus,
