hi, i had my pc turned on this morning , i didnt even login for few hours to any users on my pc, but my secondary 1tb hdd started to spin out of thin air... i didnt even access it? and it does this when logged in booted fully to pc , while i dont touch the hdd or access it or write files to it ?

windows 8.1 64bit
malwarebytes maybe is the problem idk? can someone advise?

Solution
Maybe Windows is running the Disk Defragmenter at scheduled times, or a scheduled virus check has kicked in.

Check the list of scheduled tasks which are enabled.

Control Panel >> Admin Tools >> Task Scheduler

You may also need to check for similar settings in your AV software.

(hosted at my own img hosting server)

and in MBytes there was 2 tasks i removed them, i will see if they fix it, but i highly doubt it because this happened even without mbytes installed :/

sorry for late reply i had my system taken apart to clean dust out ^^ only few months old but dust was a b*tch

i picked your first answer as solution anyhow :) but thanks for all the help you can give ! , also my hdd (mechanical) is very loudly vibrating inside the case now...
p.s. it is not mounted in my hdd cage, i have cage take nout for more airflow from front intake fans x2 .. and i put ssd with bluetack into optical drive bay , and mechanical hdd is screwed from sides of optical bay (the mech hdd has screw ins on sides..) but i did not have this thing before i cleaned pc... maybe you know some beter way to eliminate the vibrations from the case? it is very loud ;DD

some video DIY or anything 😀
