I have a ssd that I was going to replace my system hdd with but I don’t have an extra sata cable so I don’t know how to go about cloning my current hard drive because I can’t use both at the same time, I was wondering if there was some sort of workaround without buying another cable since most businesses are closed right now and if i did buy another cable it would only be used once. Also i’m not interested in wiping my current hard drive and using it as storage because I don’t need any more than what’s on the ssd.

Solution
An extra SATA cable will come handy after cloning - you can still have the HDD as secondary storage / backup drive.

Check with a friends / neighbor for an extra cable. If your system has optical drive, you ca borrow a cable from there.
