Question HDD Backup

Hi, I have a Toshiba external HDD. My Windows 10 Acer laptop is backed up on it. I also have a Windows 7 Packard laptop. I have no computer knowledge so, my question is, can I also back up the Packard onto the same same HDD and if so, if I ever need the back up how can I tell one from the other.

I assume you used Windows built-in Backup/Restore? not familiar with it, but I wager you should be able to.

Look at the content of your backup drive, what do u see. When you backup 2nd machine to, be sure to NOT OVERRIDE existing, perhaps specifying a separate folder.

If you use Macrium Reflect (free) https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree it makes on file with extension .mrimg that can be kept anywhere.

generally, I name the file something which is quite obvious, like,: MacriumBackupImage-Mark-Desktop-27Feb19

Unless you have multiple desktops, that should eliminate most confusion...
