A friend of mine picked up an HP 15-af152n laptop and asked if I could help get it running better. So I got her a 240GB SSD and threw that in and installed Windows, which made a world of difference in performance, at least once I got all the right drivers propperly installed.
But not wanting to throw out the 1TB hard drive, I got an HDD to DVD drive caddy and popped it in. But it just doesn't want to work properly. I can't format it on the laptop. And when I format it on another computer and throw it back on the laptop I can't get files to always transfer. Sometimes the whole computer freezes with a grey screen and just the mouse working with ctrl-alt-delete not doing anything.
I plan on trying another caddy. Any other suggestions?
