Hi all, i just fight with stuttering in my games for almost half year now. Spend lot of days fixing this issue. And i need your help guys. I got 2TB Seagate Barracuda HDD for Games(1400GB FREE space, 3 years old ), and 128GB SSD for Windows (60GB Free space, 6 months old). And lot of low demand games stuttering as hell, but High demand games dont stuttering at all (sometimes high demand games get just little stutter, once per 4 minutes. Games Such GTA5 and COD Warzone ). So i got lot of stuttering in games such league of legends, CSGO, fortnite. In fortnite and CSGO its stuttering so much at start of the match, and after like 3 minutes, it stutter once per 30 seconds. In league of legends stutter appear everytime in 00:20 of match, and then game stutter everytime when i kill someone, when someone kill me, at first blood, when dragon get killed or when i expose Jungle camp for first time. So i tried yesterday install league of legends on my SSD, and again at 00:20 i got stutter, but i didnt got sttuter when i die or got killed etc.... Anymore ( i got like 5 stutters per match, normally on HDD it is like 50 stutters per game.). I turned off sleep mode for HDD but it didnt help. When frametime Spike (stutter appear) i dont see high disk usage). This stutter is like playing smoothly on 144fps and then drop to 137 and back to 144fps( stutter). In games such fortnite it droping from 144fps to lower than 100fps every second at start of the match.
And also when i join in fortnite match it takes like 5 seconds before textures load. I tried Crystal disk info, and it says my HDD is good. So there must be something in Windows what cause my drives put in sleep or smte. I think it cant be faulty HDD, because stutter appear also on ssd ( less stutter on SSD, but it is still there). What do you thing guys?

Solution
You can buy a 2.5" 1tb ssd for about $100, 2tb is twice that.
A ssd is some 40x faster in random i/o such as loading graphics textures.
Repurpose the hdd as an external backup device.
That may not solve your stutters but it should help.
Stuttering is often caused by a temporary lack of cpu resource.

Do you have sufficient ram?
Look in task manager resource monitor/memory tab.
If you see a hard fault page rate more than zero, you are short of ram and hard page faults look like a lack of cpu resource.

When i play games i have everything closed... Just nvidia control panel, game launcher are open at backround. Also i tried deleting ram cache (didnt help) before any Game start i have 10GB free ram, and games such as CSGO or LOL use just small amount of it. I can take a look at Pagefaults.

OK when i launch league of legends, leagueClient. Exe and other task start hard page fault up to 70 and after like 30 seconds everything is again at 0. This could be reason why games stutter at start of match
