[SOLVED] HDD constant whirring noise

My PC is 2.5 weeks old and I've had no issues with it. My HDD is a WD Blue 1TB and is mounted to the bottom of the case touching metal from 3 sides so some noise is usual.

However, a few moments ago it started making a whirring noise. The same noise it usually makes just this time it was constant and went on for 2 minutes before I restarted my PC.

Smart scan and sfc scannow show no issues.

I suspect it was some kind of vibration from the drive. Try remounting the drive and use some blue Lok-Tite on all of the mounting screws. You might also check other case parts are tight.
