Recently I purchased a second HDD for my computer, so I had to do some rewiring in order to organize my case. However after installing everything, I noticed my original HDD now had a rhythmic hum, and if I touched the case or the drive itself it would stop. It is attached with two black clips on the side that slide it into the slot, and even after replacing both of them I notice it still has the slight wiggle room that makes it vibrate. Is there any way for me to fix this?

Solution
Yes, the drive needs to fit securely, or else a mechanical hard drive can transmit all the noise to the rest of the case.

There are many options. First is to make sure the screws are all tight to secure the drive. If there is still space, you can use foam or felt to fill the gap and close the distance. Personally, I find something self adhesive easier to use. I put a link to some self adhesive foam, but I have also used those sticky felt discs as well and it worked well.
