I've got IDE channel 4 primary set to "none" in bios, and indeed, at startup, screen at bootup shows only one HDD detected (slave). But, when booted up in XP, "My Computer" is showing both HDD contents. I just want to see slave HDD in "My Computer".

BIOS is Award and I'm using latest F14 BIOS for my mobo.

C: is shown on Disk 2, so I am booting up on the slave.

On EaseUS, Disk 1 is shown active, Disk 2 is system.

In System Information it says: "Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume7". C: is the 7th volume is you start with Disk1 on primary IDE, which has 6 partitions on it.

Actually, I think it's normal that Windows would show slave, when in BIOS IDE slave set to "None".

But why is that? Seems a bit counter productive.

I think my only option is to hide slave drive partitions in Windows.

Or, go back to caddys.
