HEY!
I have a 512GB HDD and every time I shut my computer down at the end of the day, and start it back up the next day, it doesn't work. The disk management panel sees the disk but it keeps saying 'Not Responding'. Same with all the apps connected directly or indirectly to the drive. For example, I'm a video editor and all my After Effects cache is stored in this drive, After Effects doesn't start up at all when this happens and just crashes. When I double click the drive and open it in File Explorer, the root folder of the drive opens, but as soon as I click any actual folder inside the drive, it says not responding for a couple minutes and comes up with 'Could not complete this action because of an I/O error'.
The only fix that I've found so far is force shutting the computer down (because even shutting it down normally, it gets stuck for some reason, which I'm guessing is Windows checking all the drives and saving everything or something), re connecting the SATA Cable to the HDD, and restarting the computer. Sometimes it works on the first restart, sometimes I have to do up to 5 RESTARTS. As you can guess, this is a big hassle and really annoying. Any ideas what might be happening and would be a permanent fix to this problem?
