[SOLVED] HDD Drive not working properly on Laptop

Whenever I try to use my HDD for example to download games on through steam the download speed goes unstable and up and down to 0 kb/s, though mainly on 0 and the disk usage gets 100%. It seems like it is able to download but not able to write it even remotely fast enough. I used to have a 1TB installed so I tried to use that one after cloning the HDD back onto it but with the same result. Programs still work on it but starting them up is extremely slowly and Steam often gets stuck, which is solved now I installed it on my SSD which shows no issues.

I have tested the HDD on both my laptop and my server through Linux and got the following results:

When using Linux, use the program called "Disks" and find the menu that gives S.M.A.R.T. data. Then upload a screen copy of the results.

The HDD seems ok. So then there is probably a software related issue going on.

You could also run a benchmark from within Linux, then the benchmark will not be influenced by various software that's hogging onto your disk.

That is the Benchmark of which I put a image of in the first post no? I tested the HDD on my laptop and another desktop computer

Assuming the S.M.A.R.T repport is from the laptop, the first curve is atypical and suggest that something else is causing the HDD to not perform maximum, either another piece of software that reads, logging, etc - or it's connected to usb and somehow other devices is hogging resources.

The S.M.A.R.T. report is indeed from the laptop. It's connected internally in the laptop and the other one also directly into the desktop. Could something be wrong with the SATA connector inside the laptop as the 1 TB HDD I also have seems to have similar problems. How can it be a piece of software though if it's working poorly in both Windows and linux?

It seems the problem has been solved by reinstalling windows 10 along with saving all data. No huge problems encountered yet.
