Question HDD Drive will not partition

Hi - New here and not massively technical. I have an HDD that sometimes appears online, other times not initialized. But I am unable create partitions when online or initialize. I get an error message stating "The Driver cannot find the requested sector". The PC is a refurb, HDD is Hitachi 1tb - the drive, even when "online" does not show up in File Explorer. Any help/guidance appreciated.

thanks, thought as much. will get new cables and then if needs be get new drive. it does make quite the clicking sound..

Oh yeah, thats a dead/dying drive.

If you have any critical data on it, copy that off NOW. Today. Before you do anything else.
